Printed, Embossed, Printed, Foiled or Lasered?

Personalised Plastic cards have options when it comes to personalising your card.

Printed is quickest and cheapest.

All content is added to the design and can be printed as a one-off or in bulk.
Data tables can be created using excel type lists which modify the data printed to each individual card, as required
This can be used for mass printing of ID or membership cards where each has a different photo, name and card number'

Embossed.
Cards are printed as usual and detail such as name or card number is manually embossed into the card, leaving the information raised, just like with bank cards.

Embossed and Foiled. (not currently available)
These are the same as embossed, with the addition of a coloured foil on the raised detail.
This can be done in a choice of colours. Black, Blue, Gold, Green, Red or Silver.

Laser Etched.
On plastic cards, this melts and discolours the surface, where the very precise laser beam is aimed.
The aiming is done by computer, to put the details you want, where they need to be.

On metal cards, the laser burns off some of the coating anodisation, to leave the metal below it exposed.

On uncoated metal, an ultraviolet laser is used to mark the surface using ablation. This is is the process of removing material from a solid substance, via evaporation or sublimation.
