Card types

CR80 cards are 85.6mm x 53.98mm (3.370" × 2.125") and 30 mil / 0.76mm (0.030") thick.
This can often be stated as 85.5mm x 54mm or 86mm x 54mm.
These have a curved corner radius of 2.88 – 3.48 mm.

CR80 cards are also less commonly known as ID-1 format.

CR80 cards are specified under ISO/IEC 7810 which covers physical dimensions, toxicity, resistance to bending, chemicals, temperature, and humidity.

CR79 cards are a slightly smaller 84mm x 52mm (3.303” x 2.051”)

Further international standards include ISO/IEC 7816 for cards with embedded smart chips and ISO/IEC 7811 for cards with magnetic strips or embossed data.

In addition to the basic size, cards can have slots for lanyard attachment, magnetic data storage, smart chips, RFID chips in various frequencies, signature strips, holograms, UV and other security features.
